RIPPING SOLUTIONS

We supply machines for ripping all types of solid wood. The application range is varied: Furniture producers, parquet manufacturers, the pallet and formwork industry, kitchen producers and the crate, window and coffin industry are all good customers of ours. As the fields of application are both varied and also highly individual, we offer a suitable solution to address every conceivable need.

S-Series Heavy-Duty Circular Edgers and Multirip Saws
The PAUL S-models are heavy, robust and powerful machines, designed for extremely heavy-duty work. The arrangement of the climbing top feed rollers and fixed bottom rollers ensures accurate guidance of the material being cut. The pressure applied by the top rollers is reinforced hydraulically. The models in the S series, designed for manual or automatic loading, are suitable for a multitude of applications

  Heavy-Duty Circular Edgers / Ripsaws Series KME2
The classic machines for the manual edging of boards and planks, and for multi-ripping, are the circular edgers of the KME2 and BM series. In mechanical, electric or hydraulic configurations, with up to 4 independently movable saw bushes, driving power up to 75 kW and continuously variable feed rate, they are in use in practically every sawmill.
Since the production of this machines in the early 50‘s, PAUL has established a reputation as a highly competent and efficient woodworking machinery manufacturer. Today over 7500 our circular edgers are in use worldwide.
Sawmill operators appreciate the benefits of this machine series.

Climb-Cutting Machines of the S/GL Series
The climb-cutting machines of the S/GL series offer maximum working safety, high yield, smooth waste and edgings removal and guarantee an optimum guidance of the saw blade. Thanks to the workpiece support in the sawing area a high dimensional accuracy is achieved. The offset-free cut surfaces produced on the S/GL eliminate the need for taking account of any planing allowance if planing is required after ripping. The reduced cutting pressure requires less power and helps to save energy.

  Automatic Optimizing Edger
The aim of a feed system is to achieve optimum performance linked to
best material utilisation and profit maximisation. In combination with
the various rip saws supplied by PAUL, it is possible to develop a solution
for every possible application.
In the toughly competitive world of the modern sawmill industry, automated complete solutions play an ever more important role. Against the backdrop of rising raw material prices and the high volume requirement for raw wood, steps must be taken to cut down on storage periods and to optimize throughput times. Automatic feed systems are an ideal way to maximize the material flow and ensure an optimum wood yield.

  Edging and Ripping System POWER_RIP
The POWER_RIP has been designed for high throughput rates and optimum yield, utilizing high-grade components that are perfectly coordinated via a CNC control.

  Circular Rip Saw K34V/1000
A power pack designed to address the most stringent production requirements. This machine is a circular rip saw with movable saw bushes, designed to rip hard and soft wood up to 940 mm wide. It combines the essential features of a classic multirip saw and circular edger in one machine: High-quality cutting edges by means of a precise feed system and an optimal yield by means of movable saw bushes can be achieved on this machine. This multirip circular saw stands for top output, flexibility and productivity.

  Compact Rip Saw C/GL
C/GL is particularly suitable for selective ripping and edging of solid wood and production of first-class cutting edges, affording an impressive list of outstanding design features

Multirip Saws of the K34G Series
The K34G model series is extremely varied. The machines are particularly distinguished by their great versatility. They are ideally suited for sawing, grooving, edging on both sides, ripping raw boards and cutting complete veneer packs. The unusually large opening widths of up to 3000 mm meet a wide range of applications. The different models come with one or two saw shafts positioned optionally top or bottom.

Multirip Saw K34-O for Solid Wood
Ripping and edging solid wood, in particular dried hardwood boards of short length. The machines feature a vertically adjustable overhead saw shaft. The tools can be spaced at virtually any intervals directly on the saw shaft by using spacer rings.
Model K34-O is available with a saw shaft rotating against the feed or optionally with the feed as a climb-cutting version. The boards are accurately guided by non-slip top and bottom feed rollers. Drive for the feed rollers is provided via cardan shafts to ensure high feed rates and a long service life.

  Automatic Infeed Systems

The aim of a feed system is to achieve optimum performance linked to best material utilisation and profit maximisation. In combination with the various rip saws supplied by PAUL, it is possible to develop a solution for every possible application.
Our feed systems are ideally suited for square-edged and waney-edged board material and are available in a wide range of equipment configurations depending on requirements. Fully automatic feeding systems with scanner provide optical detection of defects such as knots, cracks and other typical defects found in timber and automatically determine the optimum ripping combination.
Buffer storage and transport systems take care of seamless infeed, and so ensure minimal workpiece throughfeed times.

Multirip Saws of the K34G Series

This model series is extremely versatile. The machines are characterized in particular by their universal application.
This model series is capable of machining wide-ranging material types including chipboard, MDF, hard fibre and plywood panels, plastics, cork, cardboard, laminate and OSB panels.

  Panel Rip Saw K34VARIO

Sawing or hogging from the bottom against the feed is a basic construction principle of our multirip saws. This principle has also been adopted on the K34VARIO. Independent saw heads are individually positioned via the CNC control. Hogger units arranged ahead of the rip saws and the facility to move the tool heads into a parking position outside the cutting area ensure maximum flexibility in terms of strip width and number of strips. These flexible and variable tool heads have given the machine the name VARIO.

Profiling Rip Saw K34G-OUR for Bed Slats

This model has been specifically developed for ripping and profiling curved bed slats. The panels are ripped and profiled in a single pass. This saves a number of work steps and achieves a major increase in output, so maximizing profits. Thanks to the curved arrangement of the feed rollers the K34G-OUR is suitable for processing curved panels with a bending radius of approx. 3–9 m into bed slats. The machine features a top and a bottom saw shaft rotating against the feed. Both shafts are designed for use with special profiling tools.

Multirip Saws for Panels up to 150 mm thick

The heavy-duty high-performance PAUL SK series multirip saws are specifically designed for ripping panels (OSB, OSL, LVL and particle board) of up to 150 mm in thickness. The machines are available in opening widths of 900–2200 mm (wider models on inquiry) and can be equipped with either just a bottom or top and bottom saw shafts.

  Automatic Feeding Systems

PAUL multirip saws are ideally suitable for incorporation into throughfeed panel sizing lines. They can be used for both longitudinal and transverse ripping operations. The feeding systems available range from the simple solution using an inclined roller conveyor with fence up to the fully automatic, highly efficient alignment station where each workpiece is aligned by means of cameras and image processing.

Ripping, grooving and profiling of corrugated board and cardboard

For many years the PAUL Company has been well known as a manufacturer of custom-tailored multirip saws. They are ideally suited for ripping, grooving and profiling of all kinds of materials, such as particle board, plastics, laminates, fibre cement, rigid foam and numerous other materials. Less well known is that PAUL Multirip Saws are also perfectly suitable for processing corrugated board or cardboard for packaging.
